A small signal transformer that is often used as an inductor for advanced tonal shaping in guitars and basses. Commonly used when building mid shaping circuits like the Varitone, or a Q-Filter.
With it's centre taps, this component can be used in one of four different ways, hence different inductances:-
- Primary side, full coil
- Primary side, half coil
- Secondary side, full coil
- Secondary side, half coil
Using the entire primary side, the inductance is 1.5H
The unit is small enough to fit inside many instrument cavities (it is only 15 mm x 15 mm x 12.7 mm), is wax potted for stability and has the primary side marked.
