The original P90 used nickel pole pieces with bar magnets as do our interpretation, the X90. The new AL90 retains the cosmetics of the X90 but uses Alnico pole magnets in the style of the classic Fender single coils. The wide flat coil, together with the Alnico pole magnets and the 42 gauge winding wire are more Jazzmaster than Les Paul, opening up new tonal options.
